Cambridge, Mass., May 30, 2018 — At its annual awards dinner, held at the MIT Media Lab, the New England Motor Press Association honored four individuals for their outstanding contributions to the automotive industry and awarded trophies for the organization’s annual NEMPA Winter Vehicle, Ragtop and Automotive Excellence Awards.
“NEMPA members have a point of view that is shaped by the weather, road conditions and terrain unlike any other market in the country,” said NEMPA President John Paul. “Our Winter Vehicle and Ragtop Awards are won by those vehicles that prove their ability and agility in some of the toughest driving conditions and in one of the most densely populated and geographically distinct regions in America.”
More than 100 journalists and industry professionals gathered for the award presentation. Wayne Carini, host of Chasing Classic Cars, was the master of ceremonies.
“We were also pleased to recognize individuals that significantly contribute to the success of the industry,” John Paul explained. “Thomas J. Doll, Keith Crain, Chris Naughton, and Lisa Barrow were honored this year.”
Cartender was honored to produce the video that was shown for the Ritvo Design and Elegance Award which was presented by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Larz Anderson Auto Museum. The winner of the award was the Mazda Kai Concept.
“Selected with the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the Larz Anderson Auto Museum, this award honors the best in automotive design. It is named for the late Gene Ritvo, a veteran concours photographer and NEMPA member who had a keen eye for elegant design.”
